… at least in Poland.
I want to wish all children happy living, and „healthy“ families. A lot of joy, and of course peace to the world…
According to Wikipedia today it is a holiday in following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, People's Republic of China, Estonia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
Majority of such countries have/had strong relationships with former USSR, part of them actually were a part of it.
I can remember, when I was a kid it was a great day. Always sunny. There was only an Assembly at the school. We've got the presents. Pure joy. It was all about kids. Our TV even gave some Disney movie (it was , to us – children, the only imagination about countries on the other side of Iron Curtain).

Hey! Thats great to know! What presents you used to get?
Incidently, its sunny today in London also. In India, we celebrate Children's Day on 5th September. That's the Birthday of the First Priminister of India Mr. Jawahar Lal Nehru.
We too used to have the lot of fun on this day in schools. No teaching was conducted by the teachers and senior students used to go to junior classes and interact with the students there.
It was real fun. I too have some very fond memories of children's day in my school!
Cheers! Prem
